Details
Due to the success of the gold Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic silver coins were introduced in 2008.
Its design corresponds to the design of the gold Philharmonic. On the obverse of the coin the pipe organ in the Vienna Musikverein’s Golden Hall is shown. The reverse of the coin depicts instruments of the famous Vienna Orchestra, including Vienna horn, bassoon, harp, two violins, and two Violas centred on a cello. Only the year of issue changes accordingly.
Like the gold coin, the silver coin is legal tender in Austria and has a face value of 1.50 Euros.
The silver Vienna Philharmonic is only available in one size. 20 coins are shipped in a tube. Each tube is sealed with a security seal of the Austrian Mint.
However, the golden Vienna Philharmonics are available in different sizes – 1/25 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz 1/2oz, and 1 oz.
For further information please see the website of the Austrian Mint.
We recommend buying packaging units to ensure the best protection possible for your coins.
